Third international meeting in the project Worker participation in GIG economy – long term scenarios for the automotive sector was held in Toledo, Spain. 14 members from partner organizations attended the meeting. During the two-day meeting, the participants had the opportunity to discuss results achieved on the project, future actions and other relative entities related to this project. The topics of the Workshop organized in Toledo were following:
-Organizational and operational work
-Internal communication between company – level workers’ representatives based in different countries
-Cooperation between workers and employers, the information flow between EWC members, effective lobbying methods.
During the first day of the meeting, the expert presented an overview of the national findings and also the report of the comparative analysis. The attendant had the opportunity to propose the national and transnational level actions that should be taken to ensure the mechanisms of information, consultation and participation and the activities of workers’ representatives follow the evolution of the labor market. At the end of the first day of the meeting, participants took an active part in group work ''Good practices of communication for workers´ representatives in-company''.
The second day of the meeting the focus was on the presentation of how is going information flow, and which is the role of EWCs. The list prepared during the first event in Belgrade was developed, and important conclusions are made.
The workers and employers after attending the event got important information about the effective methods for cooperation at the transnational level with a focus on the adaptation of information, consultation, and participation mechanisms to the changes in the labor market and enable workers’ representatives to address the current and future labor market challenges. The digital evolution, development of industry 4.0 and the negative repercussions affecting the worker participation mechanisms was addressed.
